OUR BURN
A ritual fire to open Collective Escape.
Let it go. And create something new
SUNDAY, APRIL 21
VERDUGO HILLS, GLENDALE
A collective release
We’re kicking off Collective Escape with a big communal farewell to what’s holding us back and embracing the Jewish fire ritual Biur Chametz as our last step before entering Passover — with a carb and bread heavy feast to start. Fire acknowledges the soul, and we want to see your beautiful one in community as we let go of what no longer serves us
What’s your symbolic chametz? Come ready to cast it all and let it burn. Nestled in the Verdugo hills, a private outdoor camp is the perfect place for our collective liberation moment. Join us at the fire for music and ceremony, escaping the city in a brilliant night under the stars. Get tix while they last through April 15

Biur Chametz is the final moment of preparation to kosher one’s home for Passover
Literally, chametz refers to any food product made from wheat, barley, rye, oats, or spelt that’s had contact with water and been allowed to ferment and rise
Cleaning out chametz is a crucial step before entering into the week of Passover for those who keep a kosher home for the holiday. Biur Chametz — burning the chametz — is the last ritual performed in order to purifyChametz also represents the extra in our lives. It might suggest ego, or things that are holding us back. Our burn serves to symbolically release ourselves
-
Our burn is open to Jewish young adults and friends in their 20s and 30s who are 21+
-
We’ll be eating, singing, and embarking on a collective Biur Chametz fire ritual

And we hope you’ll bring a friend and be open to being in community and meeting someone new -

Community service is a Jewish value. As part of this experience, all of our guests are invited to participate in a canned food drive to support one of our local food pantries and help give back. We’re in this together as a collective community
